01 / The story
A first encounter with a darker edge
The Dam follows Flo and Jesse, two young people drawn together across neighbouring farms. Jesse is intrigued by Flo but unprepared for where she wants to lead him.
The film turns the familiarity of a rural coming-of-age story toward something more unsettling, allowing curiosity, attraction and danger to occupy the same landscape.

Flo likes Jesse, the boy at the neighbouring farm. Down at the dam, first love turns into a last rite.
02 / The approach
Targeted production support where it mattered
The Dam was produced by Purple Flower Music, with selected members of the Blue Dot team partially involved in running the production. Adrian Samson is credited as a producer alongside Gregory Dolgopolov.
This is an example of how Blue Dot can enter an existing project without taking it over: supporting the production where needed while the original filmmakers, production identity and credits remain intact.
03 / The outcome
A short built for the genre circuit
The Dam screened at Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival, HybridGenre Australia Melbourne, A Night of Horror International Film Festival, Horror Underground Film & Screenplay Festival and Canberra Short Film Festival.
The project is presented as partial involvement by the Blue Dot team, not as a Blue Dot production.
